A new phenomenon that has started trending on social media recently is the #InvisibleBoxChallenge, which first became viral with varsity cheerleader, @arielo1220’s tweet.

Her tweet has since received 288k likes and 145k retweets at the time of writing. Ariel has also been invited onto various programs and talk shows to show others how she managed to complete the challenge.
What?
For those of you who still don’t get it after watching the video, the invisible box challenge has three parts:
- Imagine that there is a box in front of you. Pat it.
- Pretend that you are placing one foot on the box.
- With that foot still in the air, hop over the box with your other foot.
This may look (and sound) simple, but we assure you that it is not. Just take a look at these #InvisibleBoxChallenge fails and you’ll see what we mean.

The Good
Of course, not every attempt has been bad. Some have turned out pretty well.

Here’s Ryan Seacrest attempting the challenge. Not the most well done of the lot, but definitely still a pass.

The Funny
Not every single person thinks a challenge ought to be attempted in the same way.

For those of our readers who wish to try the invisible box challenge, we recommend doing it on a soft surface, unless you do not quite treasure your face or limbs like we do.
