On the 10th October, the geniuses from Dyson revealed their latest innovation that would change the hair industry forever — featuring, the Dyson Airwrap styler. Once again, Dyson has left us stumped with their latest invention. This shiny tool promises to be a problem solver for all hair types and textures, armed with the superpowers of an all-in-one styler. You can now achieve salon-standard voluminous curls and smooth blowouts — in your own home. Say whaaat? Prepare to bid farewell to your monthly hair appointments, because you can now achieve amazing hair at any time of the day.
The company, forefronted by British engineer Sir James Dyson, was initially known for their home-care appliance. In 2016, they took a plunge into the beauty industry with the launch of their Supersonic Hair Dryer, which rocked the internet with their bladeless technology.
This time, after spending close to six years and $31 million in research on the human hair, Dyson has upped the ante of the styling game and the Airwrap Styler is birthed. The Styler makes use of aerodynamic technology, known as the Coanda effect, where jets of warm air no higher than 150°C are released from the vents along the barrels. The air only flows in a circular manner around the attachment’s surface due to the different pressures. With that, it automatically attracts hair to wrap around the barrel, shaving off precious time spent on mornings styling your hair.
With air released at a hair friendly temperature unlike conventional curling tongs, the Airwrap promises zero damage to your hair. When it comes to styling hair, the hair has to first be dry. This smart styler skips this step by optimising the dampness of the hair for curls to stay in place, avoiding permanent damage from double drying of hair. This gets the nod from consumers who care immensely about their hair condition.
Ever since Dyson dropped this thermobaric bomb, beauty geeks are left gushing all over the internet with breathless anticipation. Related hashtags such as #dyson, #dysonhair and #dysonairwrap flooded Instagram on the day of its announcement. It reached an audience as wide as 55.8 million people, garnering 487.1k likes and 1.3 million views.
This is largely credited to Dyson’s awesome influencer marketing campaign. They invited social media influencers and press from all over the world to the launch of Dyson Airwrap in countries like Thailand, Canada, and even Dyson’s Headquarter in the UK. Kudos for that!
Isabel Tan, known as her internet moniker @prettyfrowns, was flown to Bangkok to attend Dyson’s Airwrap launch event, where she put the Airwrap to test right on the spot — we are loving how beautiful the curls have turned out!
From the stream of Instagram stories uploaded by Isabel, she can be seen unboxing and gushing over the Airwrap gifted to her. Her stories were tracked by Popular Chips using hashtags #dysonairwrap and #dysonsg. Man, we are jealous.

The Airwrap comes in three packages; Volume + Shape kit ($649), Smooth + Control Kit ($649) and the complete set which comes with all six barrel attachments ($699).
