Social media engagement rate is how much interaction there is with a content that is being posted on that social media site.
There are many factors affecting the engagement rate of content on social media, such as shares and likes of the content. So, what can we do to increase it?
1. Sponser a giveaway
Everyone loves getting free gifts- who doesn’t, right? Sponsoring a giveaway will not only entice people to check out your brand, but also increase your likes and shares, which will hence also expose other people to your brand.
There are different ways to do a giveaway, such as by asking people to share a photo on their social media feed and mentioning your brand account or using a hashtag that you want them to use, or simply by asking people to like and comment on your post to stand a chance to win the giveaway! The hashtag and mentioning gives you a very quick overview of how many people are engaging with your content and interested in it.
Below is an example of an Instagram giveaway that some brands do!
We got you a little something at Wanderlust Squaw Valley ☀🙏 Here’s how to enter to win over $500 of high vibe goodies: 👉 Make sure you’re following @spiritualgangster @mandukayoga @sajewellness @vitalproteins @silverandsagejewelry 👉 Like this post + tag a friend in the comments 👉 Keep an eye on your DMs — we’ll announce the lucky winner on Wed 7/25. Good luck! #wanderlustsquawvalley #giveaway #spiritualgangster
Why not take advantage of this chance to increase your social media engagement rate?
2. Work with social Influencers
Social influencers have powerful access to a wide audience and have high credibility and authenticity, hence they are able to target and reach out to a large number of people.
Highlight on point ✨ in love with @tartecosmetics’s #hamptonsweekender palette which provided the blush, highlighter and contour for this look 😍 ⠀ More makeup deets: ⠀ Primer: @benefitcosmeticssg #porefessional in Pearl ⠀ Eyebrows: @katvondbeauty Brow Pomade in Aubergine mixed with Magenta. I swear this series of brow promades is a god sent for people with brightly coloured hair! Who else makes PINK brow pomade? Thanks for being considerate for such a niche market @katvondbeauty 😍 ⠀ Eyeshadow: @fentybeauty #moroccanspice Palette although I didn’t go for any adventurous colours ⠀ Eyeliner: @fentybeauty #flyliner I’m a freaking convert, this literally goes into my top two best eyeliners EVER (not an easy achievement), sharing first place with @urbandecaycosmetics’s perversion eyeliner. Super opaque fucking love it ⠀ Foundation: @ponyeffect_seoul Colorstay Cushion Foundation ⠀ Concealer: @toofaced Born this way Sculpting Concealer ⠀ Lip: @anastasiabeverlyhills liquid lipstick in Milkshade ombre-d with some random hot pink bullet lipstick I had in my drawer forgot the brand ⠀ Ps: I’m totes loving my #CuratedEar but I don’t know why I bother with the two #forwardhelix piercings when they are forever covered by my stupid sideburns 🙄 and yes I need to dye my roots lol ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #makeup #motd #earpiercing #pinkhair #pinkbrows #earcandy
Here above, we have an example of a social influencer, Xiaxue, doing a sponsored post for Tarte Cosmetics. Because of the large number of followers that social influencers have, this will help to increase the social engagement rate for the brand when the audience of the social influencer checks out the brand.
3. Find the best time to post
The best time to post means the best time where your audience is most likely to see and engage with your content. Content that is being posted at the “best time” will garner more shares, likes, comments and click-through, which will ultimately lead to greater brand awareness.
